Blu the staffie turned a year old in 2021 and owner Amber made sure this was a dog birthday party to remember. We started off at Arderne Gardens, a beautiful local park situated in the middle of the built-up Southern Suburbs of Cape Town.
The table was set and loaded up with treats and gifts and Blu dressed up for the occasion. At this point I don’t think she had any idea what all the fuss was about but she was quite happy to go along with it.
The gifts included some gorgeous clothing items and Blu was more than happy to do a bit of modelling. The stunning location also made for the best backdrop.

Arderne Gardens is well known for the huge fig trees. It’s a popular location for wedding photoshoots, or in this case a dog birthday party! Blu had no problem scaling the massive tree roots. She stopped to show off her beautiful blue harness. Another gift – spoilt girl!
Later in the day it was off to the woods to meet up with some furry friends for pupcakes and games. I don’t think I have ever been to quite such a busy and noisy party. But everyone was on their best behaviour.There were no squabbles at all. Quite unusual for a one-year olds’ birthday party I would think.

After a long fun-filled day there were some very tired pooches (and humans). It was a lovely occasion and wonderful to see a dog so loved and spoilt.
