The morning of our scheduled photoshoot with Rafa the labrador and his family, dawned overcast and misty with a definite hint of rain in the air. In spite of the weather we decided to go ahead with the shoot and I am so glad we did!

The slopes above Simon’s at the historical Groot Constantia Wine Farm is the ideal setting for a family photoshoot. Thanks to the cloud, the light was just perfect and we were well protected from the elements by the big trees. The photoshoot was a birthday gift for Mark and this happy pic of the gorgeous couple sums up the occasion perfectly.

Rafa was very excited by the surroundings and all the new smells, so we tried to get all the required posed shots out of the way while he was still trying to figure it all out. Three perfect smiles for this one!

This shot of mum, Jane and her (three) boys is one of my favourites. It’s definitely one for the album.

Children and dogs grow up fast and it’s so good to have mementoes of these special moments. These photographs will become priceless when looked at in years to come.

Both boys wanted their own personalised portrait with their best buddy, Rafa.

In the short time we were there, the clouds gave way to sun and we moved over to the nearby vineyards to get King Rafa sitting in this gorgeous golden sunlight with the autumn leaves of the vines stretching behind him.

A man and his dog in amongst the golden vineyards. Gorgeous!

Rafa ended the morning with a well deserved roll in the grass. Such a good boy!
